WILLIAM ROSS SHATTUCK (AMERICAN 1895-1962) OIL ON CANVAS OF A YOUNG MAN

An evocative Art Deco period oil on canvas of a young man seated in a large armchair on a floral carpet in an elaborate stylized interior. The sitter, dressed in a crested blazer and short pants, with a bowler hat, stares directly at the viewer. The boy is depicted in front of a fireplace mantle piece with a picture above. Framed in a gold bamboo style moulding. Signed by the artist William Ross Shattuck lower right. Provenance: Estate of Chuck Williams, founder of Williams-Sonoma.
