FINE AND RARE GEORGE II PERIOD NEEDLEPOINT UPHOLSTERED WALNUT WING ARMCHAIR

A good English George II period walnut wing armchair with cushion, upholstered in gros and petit needlepoint material, the chair dating from the early part of the 18th century. The needlepoint depicts an exotic bird in a stylized overall floral background and is probably from the 19th century although it could be earlier. The chair rests on elegant walnut downswept legs which retain a warm nutty brown color. Formerly with casters. Circa 1730
