HARRY HALL (ENGLISH 1814-1882) "WEST AUSTRALIAN WITH JOCKEY UP AND TRAINER"
A fine oil on canvas by the well-regarded English artist Harry Hall signed, titled and dated 1853 lower right. The scene depicts a thoroughbred named West Australian with his jockey in the saddle and the trainer in the left foreground. The picture is particularly well-executed with a very expressive and distinctive looking jockey. Framed dimensions are 28.5" height by 35.5" width. Relined. Provenance: Rehs Galleries, Inc., New York. Purchased for $28,500 8-19-1992, receipt available.
