A lovely Chinese export black lacquer occasional table, the top decorated with an elaborate bucolic scene depicting a large figure on a bridge over a steam in a landscape setting with butterflies and houses in the background. The central drawer is fitted with 3 small interior drawers and decorated with gold foliate accents. Each of the sides are decorated with complimentary gold foliate designs. This table rests on square tapered legs joined by an elaborate curved stretcher with a central decorated panel depicting a structure and a butterfly. An elegant and and quite beautiful piece of furniture. Complete with key. Circa 1850-1870.
