A fine pair of late Georgian sterling silver wine coasters of large scale signed and dated by the maker, S.C. Younge & Co. of Sheffield, U.K. These lovely coasters are decorated with repeating repousse grape leaf and foliate designs with turned mahogany bases and a central sterling silver boss. Each has a central family armorial depicting a lion with both paws upraised. Hallmarked for 1823-4. These large scale coasters are beautifully made and will accommodate decanters or magnum sized bottles.
