A set of the Complete Works of Samuel Johnson in 22 volumes published 1811-1838 printed by various London publishers and uniformly bound in full tooled brown calf bindings. This set includes Johnson's 5 volumes entitled Journal of his Hebrides Tour, his Sermons, Debates in Parliament, and 12 volumes of Works of Johnson. It is very unusual to find 22 volumes encompassing his overall body of speeches and writings in a leather set, with full gilt edges and 5 panel gilt- tooled spines. The volumes also have marbleized endpapers. A great collection of one of England's greatest minds and writers.
