Ingrid Van Munter is a highly regarded French contemporary ceramicist working from her studio in Southern France. Born in 1974 she is best known for her spherical stoneware sculptures often of asymmetrical form with distinctive matte glazes. The current example is probably from her planet series and displays many of the characteristics typical of her interesting and wonderful art. An interesting and dramatic piece of inspired craft purchased directly from the Pacific Heights estate of a prominent San Francisco resident.
