A well-executed etching of the head of famous author Joseph Conrad by Arthur William North ( English Late 19th century). The etching is pencil signed by the artist "Arthur North" and annotated in pencil "Savage Club, London 1912" lower left. A bold signature by Joseph Conrad is across the base of the picture. The Savage Club was founded in the 19th century for artists, writers and actors and remains open today.
